CLASS 1

There are three types of lifts: 3 & 4 wheel electric forklifts and stand-up counterbalanced forklifts. All models are maily used indoors on smooth concrete surfaces. Three wheel forklifts are sometimes preferred due to their tighter turning radius over the four wheel mode. Stand-up models are primarily designed and used for loading trucks on a dock. All primarily have cushion tires but do have pneumatic models available. Stand-up and three wheel models require a 10'=10'6" aisle where the four wheel model would need a minimum of 12'.

Capacities range from 3,000 to 5,000 lbs. For the three wheeler/stand-up and 3,000 to 30,000 lbs. For the four wheel model.

CLASS 2

Commonly referred to as "narrow aisle" lifts these include reach trucks, order selectors and turret trucks. All models are electric and designed to be used indoors and in pallet racking systems. Reach trucks are designed to put full pallets into the racking system. Order selectors are used to carry an operator up and down the aisle through the racking system and select individual parcels. Turret trucks can do both, place full pallets into the racking system or select individual parcels. Reach trucks require a 9'-10' aisle traditionallly.

Order selectors and turret trucks can be used in aisles as small as 5' as thus are referred to as "very narrow aisle".

Capacities on all these models range from 3,000 to 4,5000 lbs. With lift height over 400+ inches.

CLASS 3

These include electric pallet jacks and stackers. Electric pallet jacks come in rider and walkie models with capacities primarily ranging from 4,000 to 8,000 lbs. These are used for floor level order selecting, loading trucks and tagging along on delivery trucks. Walkie stackers have the ability of a forklift withour riding. These can be straddle or counterbalanced models with limited lift heights and capacities.

Lift heights usually range from 60" to 189" and capacities or 2,000 to 4,000 lbs. These units are perfect for smaller ware houses with limited space.

CLASS 4

Cushion tire forklifts are equipped with smaller, hard rubber tires and are primarily used indoors and on hard smooth surfaces. These are an internal combustion model and are primarily seen in lpg (liquid propane gas) or diesel but once in a while you will see gasoline. These are tighter turning than their pneumatic counterparts but will still require a minimum of a 12' aisle in a pallet racking system.

Capacities will range commonly from 3,000 to 50,000+ lbs

CLASS 5

Pneumatic tire forklifts are equipped with larger air filled tires and are typically used outdoors on surfaces such as concrete / blacktop, packed gravel and hard dirt. These lifts are not recommended for loose dirt, sand, etc. Except on a very limited basis. These are an internal combustion model and are primarily seen in lpg (liquid propane gas) or diesel but once in a while you will see gasoline. Turning radius is larger than the cushion tire model and will require larger aisles if brought into a warehouse.

Capacities will range from 3,000 to 105,000+ lbs.
